- San Blas de Illescas Half Marathon, Coamo. International and local runners compete in a challenging 13-mile (21km) half-marathon in the hilly south-central town of Coamo. Early February.
- Coffee Harvest Festival, Maricao. Folk music, a parade of floats, typical foods, crafts, and of coffee preparation in Maricao, a 1-hour drive east of Mayagüez. Mid- February.

- Dia Nacional de La salsa. Dance the day away with tons of other Salsa lovers. Live bands all day! Bring you comfortable dancing shoes and enjoy!
- Ron Festival, The Puerto Rico National Rum Festival, Taste of Rum, is one of the world's biggest and most attended rum festivals. During the one-day festival, attendees can enjoy over 12 rum brands made in Puerto Rico, including the world-famous Bacardi and Don Q and the award-winning Ron del Barrilito.
- Iron Man Event. The grueling event comes to PR again this year. Participants will swim 1.2 miles in the protected waters of the Condado Lagoon, a 56 mile bike ride on roads through Catano and a 13.1 mile run through Old San Juan.

-Saborea, El Escambrón Beach, San Juan.This event is withing a 5 minute walk from the apartment. A weekend culinary extravaganza every April sponsored by the Puerto Rico tourism board, Saborea brings together island flavors and chefs and draws global culinary stars. Early April.

-Heineken JazzFest, San Juan. The annual jazz celebration is staged at Parque Sixto Escobar. Each year a different jazz theme is featured. The open-air pavilion is in a scenic oceanfront location in the Puerta de Tierra section of San Juan, near the Caribe Hilton. End of May to beginning of June.
-10K Run- The most iconic foot race in Puerto Rico returns- 10K- Walk it or run it. Benefits go to the Fundacion Hospital Pediatrico and the Fundatcon Asistencia Centro de Trauma. the run or walk event take place in Teodoro Moscoso Bridge.
-Puerto Rico Foodies Fest. For the first time in Puerto Rico, an open-air gastronomic festival that combines international food, market, cocktails, entertainment and live music. Puerto Rico Foodies Fest brings together more than 100 culinary alternatives and makers with creative proposals. Two days to experience the best of local and international food while enjoying musical shows in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. -SoFo Culinary Festival, Old San Juan. Held twice a year, in the summer and autumn, during which restaurants on La Fortaleza Street open their doors to offer food and live music. June and mid-September.
-Aibonito Flower Festival, at Road 721 next to the City Hall Coliseum, in the central mountain town of Aibonito. This annual flower-competition festival features acres of lilies, anthuriums, carnations, roses, gardenias, and begonias. last week of Jun to first week in July.
-Pride Puerto Rico Parade. A parade and music event, to promote equality, dignity and respect for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

-Noche de San Juan. (June 23) Saint John's Eve, locally known as Noche de San Juan, is an unofficial celebration in the capital of Puerto Rico that celebrates the nativity of Saint John the Baptist. Hundreds of people crowd the beaches so that at midnight they can jump backwards into the ocean seven times for good luck.
July
-Festival de Santiago Apóstol. In Loíza, there is another style of vejigante, the ones whose masks are made from coconut and driftwood. During the Festival of Saint James, the Apostle, in Spanish Santiago Apóstol, there is a lively parade through the town where the vejigantes and the Spanish knights do battle, representing the struggle between the forces of good and evil. -Flavors of Old San Juan Food Tour. Get a taste of the flavor and culture of Puerto Rico on this small-group Old San Juan food tour featuring several local eateries. -Festival Nacional del Platano. October Exhibitions of local produce, especially dishes made with green and ripe plantains, crafts, paintings, folkloric music and dance. Corozal, PR.

-Festival Nacional Indígena. This festival celebrated in Jayuya, Puerto Rico's with indigenous roots and the influence of Taíno culture and traditions. This festival brings together more than 100 artists and performers. The festivities include dances, food, parades and a Miss Taino Indian pageant. Getting there is tricky but worth the trip!
December
-Noche buena and Dia de Navidad. For most Puerto Ricans, Christmas Eve or Nochebuena trumps Christmas Day. This is the night where family and friends gather for a traditional dinner, exchange gifts, go out on parrandas, or take a drive to enjoy the Christmas decorations around town.
